Od niedawna mogę oprowadzać po Podziemiach Rynku, dlatego też dzisiaj słów kilka o tym muzeum. Podziemia to oddział Muzeum Historycznego Miasta Krakowa, oficjalna nazwa to: Podziemia Rynku Głównego. Trasa Turystyczna Śladem Europejskiej Tożsamości Krakowa.
Since recently I can guide in the Underground of the Market Square, so today a few words about this museum. It's a branch of the Cracow's Historic Museum and the offficial name is: Rynek Underground. Following the traces of European identity of Kraków.
Lokalizacja. Location.
Jak sama nazwa wskazuje, Podziemia możemy zwiedzać pod płytą Rynku, pod wschodnią jego stroną. Ale jak tam się dostać? Wchodzimy przez Sukiennice, schodzimy kilka metrów w dół i otwiera się przed nami całkiem inny świat.
As the name says, we can see the Undergrounds under the surface of the Market Square, under its eastern side. But how to get there? We enter through the Cloth Hall, we go down and the other world opens for us.
Historia. History.
W 2005 roku rozpoczęto prace remontowe po wschodniej stronie Rynku, a wraz z nimi - wykopaliska archeologiczne na dużą skalę. Odkryto 11 tysięcy przedmiotów, z których najcięższy ważył prawie 700 kg, a najmniejszy paciorek miał długość zaledwie 2 mm. Przedmioty te można oglądać na wystawie po której poruszamy się chodząc pomiędzy pozostałościami dawnych kramów kupieckich i najstarszych dróg. Wystawę otwarto 24 września 2010.
In 2005 the renovation of the Market Square started on the eastern side. Together with them - the archaeological research. About 11 thousand things were dug of, among them the heaviest, weighing almost 700 kg and the smallest one - a bead only 2 mm long. You can see all those thing on the exhbition where we walk among the remains of the oldest merchants' stalls and roads. The exhibiton was opened on 24 September 2010.

W Podziemiach oglądamy eksponaty różnego rodzaju i różnej jakości. Możemy przyjrzeć się drobiazgom, ale zobaczymy także historię Rynku wypisaną na ziemnych profilach, wpisaną w kupieckie kramy, w relikty najstarszej osady i cmentarzyska. Dużo tu też filmów i multimediów. Dużo też ekranów podających nam informacje, bez których często eksponaty w gablotkach nie powiedzą nam nic.
In the Underground we see the exhibits of different kind and different quality. We can have a look at th smallest ones, but we also see the history of the Market Square wriiten in the ground profiles, merchants' stalls, the relics of the oldest village and the cemetry. There's also a lot of films and multimedia. There are also screens giving the information without which the exhibitsshown would be meaningless to the visitors.

Muzeum otwarte jest codziennie od 10 do 20 poza wtorkiem (10-16, wstęp wolny).
Museum opns every day from 10 to 20 except for Tuesday (10-16, free of charge).
